Art doll Kersti

Item 5 of 69

Kersti was born around, Christmas, but not named after Christmas (Kerst is Dutch for Christmas). She was named after the youngest daughter of Carl Larsson. A Swedisch artist, who lived from 1853 to 1919. His work was the inspiration for Kersti.

Kersti is a "Natural fiber art doll". A doll meant for adult enthusiasts and collectors.

In her whole body is an aluminium amature, covered in wool and needle felted. Therefor she is fully poseable (standing only with a little bit of support). Her ankles, limbs and neck can be carefully bended.

I have made her out of organic (Gots certified) interlock, doll jersey, in a pale skin colour. Her head is needle felted with clean white wool from New Zealand and around the armature is organic wool from Germany.

Her hair is a crochet wig, made out of a mohair weft and mohair yarn in light brown. It can be brushed and styled carefully.

Kersti is 42 cm/16,5" tall.

Her wardrobe consists of:

-Underwear, made of a vichy check cotton.

-Tights out of a knitted cotton/viscose.

-A red linen dress.

-An apron of white linen, with hand embroidery.

-Woolen schoes and an acorn necklace, made by Vaida Petreikis.

-And Kersti carries around a sweet baby doll.

NOTE:

This doll is too vulnerable for child play.
