Art doll - Suzanna
Overview
Susanna was born in my vacation on the North sea coast. It was warm and sunny week after week, that's how her skin got a tan and her hair got bleached.
She is a 42 cm/16,5" tall natural fiber art doll.
She is fully pose-able (standing with a little support). Because, in the core of her body and limbs is a wire armature, covered in wool and needle sculpted. Her ankles, knees, wrists, arms and neck can be bent. She can keep her arms up and even has a spine to give her a nice posture.
I have made her out of interlock, doll jersey, in a sunkissed colour. All seams are double stitched. Her face is needle sculpted with clean white wool of extra quality. And around the armature is organic wool from Germany rolled and felted. She has a cute bum and a belly button :-)
Her hair is made out of the softest mohair locks and mohair/silk yarn in natural white. It is best to leave her hair as it is, but it can be brushed very carefully, if it is really necessary. A little mohair brush is included.
Suzanna will bring her own little dolly. It makes her feel at home, wherever she will come to live.
Her wardrobe is made to mix and match, and consists of:
- T-shirt made of chocolate brown pointelle jersey.
- Long bloomers and singlet out of French poplin with flowers.
- A classic dress, made of seersucker gingham fabric.
- Baby cord balloon pants.
- A classic apron with pockets and crossways on the back, made of Liberty fabric.
- A pair of pointelle jersey socks with ribbons
- A knitted bonnet.
- A brown nicky velours long gnome hat.
- And a little maintenance set, containing doll blush, tiny rubber bands, two bobbin pins and a small mohair brush.
- Of course, woolen shoes by Vaida Petreikis are included, as well.
NOTE:
This doll is not safe and too vulnerable for child play.
Her hair is not suitable for styling often. Only brush gently when needed. Hairs might come of, but she has a lot, so that is not a problem.
